of Thessaloniki Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>RE-ROUTE Training Workshop on &#8220;Intelligent Transport System&#8221; was held on 13-14 July 2023 at the Hellenic Institute of Transport (<a href=\"http:\/\/imet.gr\/index.php\/en\/institute-en-2\">HIT<\/a>) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), Thessaloniki, Greece. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 1 (13 July 2023)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some of the highlights of Day 1 of the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dr. Evangelos Mitsakis (CERTH-HIT) welcomed all participants to the workshop and presented a session on the current status and future prospects of ITS &amp; C-ITS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Stelios Krinidis from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihu.gr\/\">IHU<\/a> &amp; Dr. Dimosthenis Ioannidis from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iti.gr\/iti\/en\/home\/\">ITI-CERTH<\/a> hosted a session on Edge Computing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Iraklis Stamos from Joint Research Centre (<a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/about-european-commission\/departments-and-executive-agencies\/joint-research-centre_en\">JRC<\/a>) &#8211; European Commission presented on &#8220;Measuring the resilience of multimodal transport networks with KPIs&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Nima Afraz from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucd.ie\/cs\/\">UCD<\/a> and Roberto Sabatino from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heanet.ie\/\">HEANet<\/a> conducted a session on &#8220;Cloud-based services for research&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 2 (14 July 2023)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some of the highlights of Day 2 of the workshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the opening session on Day 2 of the workshop, Dr. Fatemeh Golpayegani and Dr. Eric Gyamfi (UCD) presented a session on &#8220;Edge-based Traffic Simulator&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A session on &#8220;Microscopic Traffic Simulation&#8221; was arranged by Dr. Evangelos Mintsis &amp; Mr. Dimitris Tzanis (CERTH).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ms. Areti Kotsi and Dr. Vasileios Psonis presented on C-ITS enabled dynamic traffic management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Chrysostomos Mylonas &amp; Ms. Maria Stavara (CERTH-HIT) presented on using ITS data from National Access Points.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dr. Nima Afraz delivered a talk on &#8220;Peer Review and Open Science&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mr. Chrysostomos Mylonas &amp; Dr. Evangelos Mitsakis led a session on &#8220;Cross-modal substitutability &amp; Network vulnerability modeling&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To conclude Day 2, Mr. Dimitris Tzanis &amp; Mr. Chrysostomos Mylonas (CERTH-HIT) briefly introduced the participants to nuMIDAS toolkit: novel mobility
